I am formulating a book right now. It uses art and making as a call to action which is something I have always done with students physically — and now I am looking for a larger audience for the outrageously anarchic message that doing and making change things.
Because Art has become asinine, in my opinion, — pretty — something to distract on the whole.
If I see another motivational saying presented on a bright coloured watercolour background — hand- written of course — a calming hand on the shoulder, wrap it up warmly and give it a cup of tea concern for your mental well being image, I will throw up!
Don’t get me wrong! There is nothing wrong with the plethora of well-meaning self-help images out there. They are indeed, soothing and helpful and bring joy in times of stress. Like hugging a tree or eating a slice of gluten-free cake — a quick fix — a plaster for the cut.
